Are you trying to decide where to stay when you elope in Flagstaff? Add this place to your considerations. Vintage, moody, contemporary… Did I mention they have good pizza?
It may even be a fun spot to capture a few cozy photos (such as this featured couple) before or after your elopement!
High Country Motor Lodge has such a cozy vibe that’s perfect for intimate photos. The lodge also serves excellent cocktails and coffee, adding to the atmosphere of the shoot. There is a game area for pool and boardgames. The common area has access to a patio with fire-pits that you don’t want to miss. Flagstaff is a dark sky city, so it prioritizes dim light so you can see the stars, of which you can see many as you sit by the cozy fire.
As an adventure elopement photographer, I love finding unique locations like the High Country Motor Lodge for my couples to stay. This helps break up the days, especially for multi-day elopers! It can also provide a great experience for anyone visiting from out of town even for just one night. The rustic and charming aesthetic of the lodge provides such a quirky and fun backdrop.
Flagstaff is a great location for elopement photography, with its stunning landscapes and 4-season weather. Deciding where to stay is essential to keep the vibes right, but also as a home base for where you want to elope!
High Country Motor Lodge not only provides great vibes, but also has a sauna and plunge pool! What a way to spend the evening before your elopement by relaxing your muscles and providing wellness to your body!
For those looking to unwind and relax in a picturesque mountain setting, High Country Motor Lodge is the perfect destination. With amenities such as a general store, a cozy cocktail bar, and a relaxing sauna, you can truly feel pampered during your stay. Additionally, the polar plunge experience adds a unique touch for those looking for a bit of adventure during their getaway. Whether you’re in need of a weekend retreat or a longer vacation, High Country Motor Lodge has everything you need for a memorable and rejuvenating stay.
Other places I recommend staying at:
–The iconic Little America Hotel: It has great scenery, walking trails and a lot of stuff to see within the grounds.
–The Americana Motor Hotel: Such a fun, retro place!
–The Weatherford Hotel: This is in the heart of the Flagstaff downtown square! You have access to all of the quaint shops and allure of this little gateway to the Grand Canyon. Try the spinach dip at the downstairs restaurant called Charly’s or stop by The Gopher Hole for some entertainment such as karaoke and music.
–Hotel Monte Vista: This place is FUN! It has one of my favorite bars located on the first floor (Rendezvous). Have a whisky chai! You won’t regret it (unless you don’t like whiskey or chai). It also has another bar area that has karaoke and stuff like pool tables/games.
There are plenty of other places to stay, but this will get you started. Stay tuned for additional resources for Air B&B locations!
